DevOps - a fast growing development method

DevOps—a term that describes a collaborative process between software development and IT operations—is a fast-growing software development method that stresses communication and integration between software developers and IT professionals. DevOps is a direct and organized response to the need for interdependence of software development and IT operations. It aims to help an organization rapidly produce software products and services that help break down organizational silos through cultural change and automation. The term "DevOps" was popularized through a series of "DevOps Days" starting in 2009 in Belgium. Since then, there have been DevOps Days conferences held in India, the U.S., Brazil, Australia, Germany and Sweden. Simple processes become clearly articulating under DevOps. The goal is to automate as much as possible different operational processes. DevOps integration targets product delivery, quality testing, feature development and maintenance releases in order to improve reliability and security. Another DevOps goal is to speed up development and deployment cycles.
